Strength classification of titanium alloy sheets!


1、 Intensity grading

Low strength: Industrial pure titanium, corrosion-resistant structural components, chemical equipment;

Ordinary strength: aviation sheet metal parts, hydraulic pipes;

High strength: aircraft load-bearing structural components, missile components.

2、 Key performance influencing factors

1. Alloy composition design

Aluminum: TA15 contains 6.0% -7.0% aluminum, significantly improving high-temperature strength;

Vanadium/Chromium: TB5 contains 14% -16% vanadium and 2.5% -3.5% chromium, which enhances the stability of the β phase.

2. Process control

Forging process: Multi directional forging refines grain size, reducing the crack rate of TC4 sheet by 40%;

Heat treatment: After TC4 aging treatment, the strength increased by 1200MPa.

3. Impurity control

Oxygen content ≤ 0.15%, iron content ≤ 0.3%, to avoid the precipitation of brittle phases.

3、 Application scenario intensity requirements

Aerospace: High temperature strength>600MPa. Rocket fuel storage tank, engine blades;

Marine engineering: Corrosion resistance+tensile strength ≥ 750MPa, ship shell, pressure resistant shell;

Military equipment: ultra-high strength>1300MPa, missile structural components, armor lining;

4、 Strength and plasticity balance technology

Welding performance: The strength of TB6 welded joints reaches over 90% of the base metal, with an elongation rate of 8% -12%;

Rolling optimization: TC4 sheet is hot-rolled in the β phase zone and double annealed, resulting in a 12% increase in elongation.
